Andover Traveling Boys Basketball

ATBB is proud of our great relationship with the HS program!  For the third year, members of the JV and Varsity squads are spending time with our travel teams to mentor and inspire.  We look forward to watching our boys develop and work towards their goals of being the next in line to carry on the proud tradition of Andover Husky Basketball!

Running June 10th through September 2nd this year, we encourage all players to get involved with this shooting challenge. For players who successfully complete the challenges, we will offer the following rewards: players shooting 10,000 shots are eligible for a t-shirt, players making 12,000 shots are eligible for a custom game ball with a Husky logo. A couple things to note; shooting is one of the most important skills in the game and we encourage players to work on shooting. Layups should be practiced by all players, but are not part of this challenge, so don't count layups when tracking shots. Remember, this is a shooting challenge and the point of it is to get better at shooting. A good shooting workout should include game-like shots such as mid-range jumpers, free throws, three pointers, etc. Progress must be tracked using our Google Sheet found here. Open Gyms

We have two opportunities in July for players to work on their skills during open gym sessions at Andover High School.

Tryout Prep Sessions
Part of our skills training series with the Andover HS coaching staff are tryout preparation sessions. Players can participate in these to sharpen their skills prior to tryouts and get a feel for some of the things they will experience at tryouts. These sessions are free to all players.

Thank you to all who attended the 8th grade banquet in March. It was a great way to wrap up the traveling program for these 8th graders. We heard from our board president, the varsity coach Jeremy Hable and the 8th grade coaches. Thanks to the parents who helped coordinate and plan the banquet. Best of luck to all of the boys in the future!

Andover Boys Travel Basketball is a program for players in grades 3-8 in the Andover Community that wish to experience an increased level of competitive basketball!

Players go through a tryout process and are placed on teams that correspond with their skill level.  Our program is about both skill development on the court as well as personal development.  We strive to develop players with strong commitment to hard work, positive attitudes and sportsmanship!
